our FAMILY

This is not your mother’s grape juice. Unripe grape juice also called Verjus in French cuisine, is called ab-ghooreh (آب‌غوره) in Persian. These sour grapes have been used by my family in Iran for hundreds of years. The tartness of the unripe grapes have been used in dishes and stews as a replacement for lemon and vinegar.

My grandmother would grow them in her backyard and use the grapes to make a hot tea, mixing the sour unripe grapes with some that have developed more provided a bit of sweetness to curb the tartness.

My mother carried on the tradition and grew green grapes in the backyard of our Newton, Ma home. We drank these teas cold and hot during the year anytime we had a stomach ache, indigestion, or a week of bad eating. The sour grape tea would help with bloating and discomfort, speed up metabolism and would soothe our internal organs.

Today, we have our own unripe grape vineyard. All of our grapes are organic and grown and harvested in Massachusetts.

We are preparing to launch our first product, our sour grape tea make only with our organic unripe grapes and ph balanced water. We welcome you to contact us for your own sample of our delicious, good for you drink.
